iwanttospeak.net is a free worldwide language learning community, based on the tandem-method. The best and easiest way to learn a foreign language is to speak it! A personal teacher can be expensive free.

Well, it doesn't have to be expensive. There is someone out there or just around the corner who wants to speak your language, someone who speaks the language you want to learn! All you have to do is find him/her.

The Idea is: Two native speakers teach each other. Say, you want to learn Italian. With just a little luck, you can find "un Italiano" who wants to learn your native language. You teach each other in short written or spoken conversations. Eccomi qua!

Your languagepartner may live ten thousand miles away from you. He/she will teach you not only to speak, but also give you insight into a foreign culture. Or maybe he/she is just around the corner and you can meet in a cafè. This is what learning languages is all about. Making new experiences, making friends around the world.

www.iwanttospeak.net also offers a feature to find a language partner locally. We implemented a worldwide Geo-Search. That allows you to find other users in your area, while all sensitive personal data (like email-address, location, etc.) is private and will not be shown to other users. Users communicate through private messages through our server until they decide to exchange addresses or IM contacts.
